Mobileye’s mission is to develop vision systems for accident reduction and driver assistance. These systems work as a third eye for the driver by supporting the driver in performing routine driving tasks (e.g., distance keeping, adaptive cruise control) and provide timely warnings (e.g., lane departure warning, forward collision warning) in dangerous situations.
Studies in the U.S. and Europe show that providing an early warning in case of an imminent crash dramatically reduces accidents and casualties. However, the limited application of standard systems available today (based on Radar and LIDAR sensors) and the high price has hindered widespread adoption in the market.
Mobileye’s EyeQ™ vision system-on-a-chip represents a technological breakthrough combining high performance, low cost and the consolidation of multiple applications on a single platform is positioned to revolutionize driver assistance systems on a mass scale.
Mobileye’s EyeQ and software is being integrated by leading Tier-1 suppliers including Delphi, Continental/SiemensVDO, Magna Electronics, Leopold Kostal GmbH, TRW Automotive and Magneti Marelli Sistemi Elettronici.
In addition to OEM activities, Mobileye produces a complete off-the-shelf line of products, the Mobileye AWS™, (Advance Warning System), which contains features already in OEM production and new customer features to be launched by OEMs in the future. Mobileye AWS is distributed and sold around the world both to passenger cars through dealerships and trucking fleets.
