The Mobileye C2-270 is a modern, comprehensive, single camera-based safety solution integrating pedestrian, bicycle, motorcycle, and vehicle detection into one safety solution for the modern driver. The system includes a smart camera located on the front windshield inside the vehicle. It utilizes Mobileye's vehicle, lane and pedestrian detection technologies to measure the distance to vehicles, lane markings and pedestrians, providing the driver with life-saving alerts. It is the only aftermarket product to offer Mobileye’s award-winning pedestrian detection technology to consumers. The system’s performance has earned BRAKE’s 2010 highly commended product in the fleet safety category. It provides the following safety features:
- Pedestrian Collision Warning (for pedestrians and bicycles) - Alerts the driver during daylight with visual and audio warnings of an imminent collision with a pedestrian or cyclist.
- Forward Collision Warning (cars, trucks, and motorcycles) - Alerts the driver to an imminent rear-end collision with the vehicle or motorcycle ahead. Mobileye C2-270 calculates the Time To Collision based on the distance and the relative speed between the two vehicles.
- Lane Departure Warning (LDW) - Alerts the driver with visual and audio warnings when deviating unintentionally from the driving lane, a situation that may end in a run-off-road crash, rollover, etc. The system measures the distance from the vehicle's wheels to the lane markings on both sides.
- Headway Monitoring and Warning - Many drivers overestimate the headway to the vehicle in front, not realizing that, as their speed increases, the effective headway decreases, leaving them insufficient time to react.
